Women’s Circle: Embodied Movement & Ayurvedic Wisdom (90-minutes)

Let’s explore your bodies natural expression through the blueprint of yoga, primal movement and belly dance. While we will use these modalities of movement as a framework, the intention of this workshop is also for you to find your own personal expression that supports the growth & development of genuine self-expression, self-esteem, and healing. Additionally, we will end with a circle discussion on practical Ayurvedic wisdom and daily practices to promote holistic health. Be dressed and prepared for movement, and maybe a little sweat. Feel free to wear accessories that support you in feeling like you! A yoga mat, blanket, water and notebook may be helpful to you.

*** This workshop is open to women & girls post-puberty+. ‘Women’ refers to cisgender & trans-gender women, femme-identified & non-binary community members.

Therapeutic Yoga for Trauma Recovery

This 90-minute yoga class is informed by the lens of Applied Polyvagal Theory. The intention is to support students in understanding their nervous system, and how the yoga practice naturally supports deep healing and integration of our mind, body, emotions, and spirit. We will begin with discussion and education on the nervous system so students develop a framework to deepen their practice. We will then embody what we learn through a gentle-yoga class incorporating a few “difficult” postures. All movement will be presented with choice & modification. While this class is open to all levels, please be prepared to be potentially challenged. While unexpected emotional release may occur, you will be encouraged and trusted to contain your own experience out of respect for other class members. Please self-reflect on this consideration before attending. It is suggested to bring a yoga mat, blanket, pillow, water, a notebook & pen and other items which support your practice & learning.

*** DISCLAIMER: This class is not a substitute for genuine medical care, medical advice or a time for personal disclosure of past or current traumatic events. Please seek the support of your licensed- professional health-care provider. Open to individuals 18 years+.
